Privacy Commitment

KnightRush is designed to be privacy-respecting and offline-friendly. You can play, train, and track your chess puzzles entirely in your browser without ever creating an account. When you choose to sign in, we collect only the minimal data required to synchronize your rating and puzzle achievements across your devices.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways depending on whether you play as a guest or create an account:

Guest Mode (Default)

Puzzle solves, attempt history, streaks, XP, and rating are stored strictly locally in your browser's localStorage. No personal identity data is collected or transmitted.

Authenticated Accounts

If you sign in via Google OAuth or Email/Password, Firebase Authentication securely stores your email address, display name, and unique user identifier (UID).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Cross-Device Synchronization: To save your puzzle Elo rating, level progression, and gauntlet statistics to Firebase Firestore so you can resume training on any device.
  • Gameplay Experience: To adapt puzzle difficulty to your rating and prevent repeating puzzles you have already solved.
  • Security & Integrity: To prevent abuse, automated bots, and maintain fair leaderboards.

3. Data Storage & Third-Party Infrastructure

We partner with trusted cloud providers to deliver high availability and security:

Google Cloud & Firebase: Authentication tokens and cloud sync documents are stored in secure Firestore databases protected by strict security rules.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate, anonymized website traffic, gameplay mode engagement, and performance metrics to improve the chess training experience. No personally identifiable puzzle solutions or personal documents are shared.
No Advertising Trackers: KnightRush contains no third-party ad networks, tracking pixels, or data brokering partners. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

KnightRush uses browser localStorage for storing game preferences (audio toggles, theme, custom piece sets, puzzle history) and essential session authentication cookies provided by Firebase Auth. We do not use advertising or profiling cookies.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You maintain full ownership of your data. You may at any time:

  • Clear your local browser cache and localStorage to instantly delete all guest data.
  • Sign out from your account in the game menu.
  • Request full account and cloud record deletion by contacting our team.
